I'll tell ya they go over there and burn off all the soot that builds up in the exhaust. Them systems that your talking about are called "regens" and know how they work? In an effort to have some form of "accuracy" in the game, the trucks in the game do not emit smoke and from what I've read in other posts similar to this one, the trucks in ETS2 and ATS will NEVER belch smoke., sorry. If one smokes now, it tends to mean that something is wrong and the truck is in need of maintenance or repair.
